Mirjam Eckert & Pawsitive ParksThe project Skyrthalia vol. II – Pawsitive Parks will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 3 to 22 December 2025. It is implemented as a 20-day volunteering in teams project under the framework of the activity “Be Sustainable, Sportive and Cultural” (compact action). Thessaloniki's stray animal crisis is pervasive, driven by low sterilization rates, limited funding, health risks from disease and parasites, and societal neglect or abuse.

Today was the culminating moment of the Green Velocity journey. The Symposium at the Green Executive Club brought together participants, coordinators, and special guests for a presentation of project outcomes. In the evening, a vibrant celebration allowed everyone to reflect on their achievements while enjoying the fruits of their hard work.

Entering the final week with determination, participants immersed themselves in personal and collective project tasks. Remote work was seamlessly combined with community feedback sessions, allowing every idea to be polished to its finest detail.

Walking through the scrapyard, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of wrecked cars, mangled, rusting remains of lives interrupted. Each twisted piece of metal was a silent witness to a moment of impact, a story cut short. Most of these stories are never told.

It’s a true privilege to take part in Green Velocity: Crash the Habit — a project that not only speaks to my values, but also invites real, collective reflection and action. Being involved in a solidarity initiative like this renews my sense of purpose and reminds me of the strength we find in working together for meaningful change.
