The project Skyrthalia vol. II – Pawsitive Parks will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 3 to 22 December 2025. It is implemented as a 20-day volunteering in teams project under the framework of the activity “Be Sustainable, Sportive and Cultural” (compact action). Thessaloniki's stray animal crisis is pervasive, driven by low sterilization rates, limited funding, health risks from disease and parasites, and societal neglect or abuse. Despite commendable efforts from volunteers and animal welfare organizations, the scale of the issue demands comprehensive, coordinated action—including expanded neutering initiatives, stronger legal enforcement, increased municipal support, public education, and institutional resources. The project focuses on two main priorities: (1) Green practices for sustainable urban environments and (2) Protection, care, and support of pets’ quality of life in the city.
Short CV
Lara Cimeša is a young professional from Novi Sad who is communicative, responsible, and motivated to develop new skills. She has a strong artistic background thanks to seven years of ballet training, complemented by her studies at the “Svetozar Miletić” high school. Her diverse experiences include positions as a barista, sales assistant (HiKomarket, Maxi), and waitress at The Loft, which have allowed her to develop excellent customer service skills. Since 2024, she has also worked as a performer at New Entertainment, developing her talents in stage presence, acting, and audience interaction. A quick learner with strong interpersonal skills and a team spirit, Lara adapts easily to different professional environments. She is fluent in English in addition to her native Serbian. Enthusiastic and reliable, she is looking for opportunities to enrich her experience and take on new challenges.
Motivation Letter
I have a strong motivation to participate in your project focused on sustainability, animal welfare, and community engagement. I am deeply inspired by initiatives that combine care for the environment with compassion for animals and people, and I believe this project aligns perfectly with my values and aspirations. My background includes practical experience related to environmental protection and social engagement through erasmus + exhanges. I have been involved in community projects and volunteering activities that promote awareness about sustainability and green urban living which im really interested in. I am particularly motivated by your goal of improving the quality of life of pets in urban settings and promoting eco-friendly practices in public spaces. I am eager to contribute actively whether through hands-on volunteering, creative expression and arts in general. I also look forward to learning new methods of engagement through the project’s creative components. Thank you.
