The project Skyrthalia vol. II – Pawsitive Parks will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 3 to 22 December 2025. It is implemented as a 20-day volunteering in teams project under the framework of the activity “Be Sustainable, Sportive and Cultural” (compact action). Thessaloniki's stray animal crisis is pervasive, driven by low sterilization rates, limited funding, health risks from disease and parasites, and societal neglect or abuse. Despite commendable efforts from volunteers and animal welfare organizations, the scale of the issue demands comprehensive, coordinated action—including expanded neutering initiatives, stronger legal enforcement, increased municipal support, public education, and institutional resources. The project focuses on two main priorities: (1) Green practices for sustainable urban environments and (2) Protection, care, and support of pets’ quality of life in the city.

Motivation Letter
I want to join the project Skyrthalia vol. II – Pawsitive Parks in Thessaloniki because the combination of sustainability, animal welfare and community engagement reflects many of my personal values. I grew up in the countryside, surrounded by nature and animals, and I'm a vegetarian. I also have a cat, so the idea of helping improve the quality of life of pets in the city is very meaningful to me. I'm a music teacher, naturally creative and curious. During my apprenticeship I had classes in music and movement and in my free time I joined several dance groups. That's why I'm excited to take part in the choreography and performance workshop and not afraid of artistic expression. I also love photography and would be happy to develop my skills in documenting environmental and social impact. I believe photos tell important stories. I'm looking forward to contribute my energy, creativity, solidarity and teamwork, while at the same time growing personally and building meaningful connections.
