The project Skyrthalia vol. II – Pawsitive Parks will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 3 to 22 December 2025. It is implemented as a 20-day volunteering in teams project under the framework of the activity “Be Sustainable, Sportive and Cultural” (compact action). Thessaloniki's stray animal crisis is pervasive, driven by low sterilization rates, limited funding, health risks from disease and parasites, and societal neglect or abuse. Despite commendable efforts from volunteers and animal welfare organizations, the scale of the issue demands comprehensive, coordinated action—including expanded neutering initiatives, stronger legal enforcement, increased municipal support, public education, and institutional resources. The project focuses on two main priorities: (1) Green practices for sustainable urban environments and (2) Protection, care, and support of pets’ quality of life in the city.

Motivation Letter
Good evening, My name is Giovanni Imparato and I’m very excited about the possibility of joining this project this December. I’ve always cared deeply about animal welfare and sustainability, so when I read about the goals of this project, I knew I wanted to be part of it. The issue of stray animals is something I believe deserves much more attention, and I would be proud to help support their well-being and raise awareness in the community. I’m also very interested in the environmental side of the project, since green practices in urban areas are key to building better cities for everyone. This project seems like a great mix of meaningful volunteering and creative expression. I’m especially curious about the photography and choreography workshops, since I really love photography. I’m open to learning new skills and sharing this experience with people from different cultures. I’m motivated, responsible, and ready to be involved in all aspects of the project.
