Newsletter – 19 July 2025: Stories That Move — A Day of Dialogue and Expression

Today was a powerful day of connecting personal stories to our collective mission. An exhibition entitled as TRACES AFTER CHAOS has been organized by AZOGYRES Association under the supervision of the Panhellenic Association for Assistance and Solidarity of Families of Road Accident Victims AGIOS CHRISTOPHOROS with exhibitors, 12 European Artists that are directly or indirectly connected with sudden loss and that leave in Chania, Cretan Island . This reflective process strengthened team bonds and emphasized how individual experiences shape public awareness campaigns.

Meanwhile, in Chania, parallel exhibitions showcased the Green Velocity visual and audio stories, highlighting narratives from Thessaloniki in a new cultural context.

🎯 Success Highlight: All participants completed their self-reflection questionnaires and selected their stories for public presentation.

💡 Quote of the Day: “Each story is a seed for societal change when shared with empathy and purpose.”

Hereby is a very special item that we would like to highlight (artist: Rebecca Hamilton)

"Walking through the scrapyard, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of wrecked cars, mangled, rusting remains of lives interrupted. Each twisted piece of metal was a silent witness to a moment of impact, a story cut short. Most of these stories are never told.

I gathered fragments from these forgotten vehicles and used them to build a small church like the kandylakia, the roadside shrines that stand across Crete, marking places where lives were lost. But this shrine is not for one name, one face, or one family. It stands for the countless souls whose deaths on the road passed unnoticed, no memorial, no flowers, no one left behind to build them a shrine.

This work is a tribute to the unseen, the unremembered, the ones whose lives ended in silence. It’s a reminder that every crash is more than twisted metal; it is a human story, a life that mattered.

We honor them by remembering , and by choosing to drive with care, so fewer shrines have to be built.
