As part of evaluating the ESOL (Social Inclusion through Sport) program, we had the profound honor of speaking with the Principal of the 1st Special Primary School of Rhodes. Our conversation revealed a distinct yet deeply moving and essential perspective of our joint initiative at the Ialysos Indoor Gymnasium.

"Transitioning from Isolation to Full Acceptance"

As the Principal of the Special School highlighted, stepping outside the protected environment of a special education unit always presents a complex pedagogical challenge:

"For our students, transitioning into a large, unfamiliar space like an indoor gymnasium alongside dozens of new faces carries the risk of sensory overload and anxiety. However, ESOL's meticulous preparation turned this challenge into a triumphant experience. Our children felt safe, visible, equal, and accepted."

The Therapeutic Benefits of Shared Athletics
