The success of a social intervention is judged not only in the field of action but also by the quality of the scientific analysis that frames it. In this context, an extensive and multi-level meeting of the Youth Scientific Team was held, with the participation of the ESOL program implementers, representatives of the 1st Primary School of Ialysos, and specialized partners from the 1st Special Primary School of Rhodes.

The purpose of the meeting was the detailed evaluation of the partnership and the exchange of structured feedback to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the project "Social Integration through Sports."

Meeting Agenda: Analyzing the Data

The Youth Team, acting as the connecting link between theory and practice, presented the findings from the observation of the activities at the Ialysos Indoor Arena. The discussion focused on three fundamental pillars:

1. Motor Skills Evaluation and Adaptability

During the session, the effectiveness of the adapted sports stations was analyzed.

  • Qualitative Findings: It was found that the interaction between students of typical and special development acted as an accelerator for the development of physical self-confidence.

  • Feedback: The scientific team emphasized that activities requiring "pair synchronization" achieved the highest degree of participation, reducing the sense of motor insecurity in students of the Special School.

2. Language as a Tool for Inclusion (Language & Communication Analysis)

One of the most important parts of the meeting concerned the evaluation of communication skills, which constitutes the core of the ESOL program.

  • The "Language of the Pitch": The team recorded a significant reduction in communicative anxiety. Students spontaneously used collaboration vocabulary (support, help, together), transforming athletic terms into tools for socialization.

  • Conclusions: Feedback confirmed that experiential learning through movement is 50% more effective in consolidating linguistic concepts than traditional classroom teaching.

3. Planning for the Future: Feedback as a Guide

The meeting was not limited to a retrospective account but extended to the planning of next steps. The Youth Scientific Team proposed:

  • The creation of a permanent communication network between the two schools.

  • The integration of best practices arising from the June 12th action into a digital reference manual for other educational bodies.

  • The further enhancement of the medal and diploma award ceremony, to serve as powerful incentives for self-esteem.

The Importance of the Collective Feedback Loop

The ESOL program manager underlined that such meetings are essential for quality assurance. The feedback from the Youth Team functions as a "living organism" that corrects, improves, and evolves the vision of social integration.

The partnership between the 1st Primary School of Ialysos and the 1st Special Primary School of Rhodes does not stop at the final whistle of a match. It continues in the offices of scientific teams, in meeting rooms, and, above all, in the daily effort for a school without exclusions.

The true evaluation of a project lies in our ability to listen to the children and transform their needs into educational strategy!!!
