Participating in the theatrical performance organized together with my fellow volunteer Saba and the director of Esaien Roi, Eleni, was a truly enriching experience. The performance combined different artistic forms. Eleni performed hand dance, Saba played the didgeridoo, and I danced while also teaching the audience how to make origami. These elements were harmoniously united through music, creating a dynamic and multisensory performance. Several times during the show, we came together on stage and danced collectively, which symbolized connection and creative unity.
The choreography was mainly created by Eleni, but the entire process was highly collaborative. We practiced for several days before the performance, during which we experimented, shared ideas, and gradually developed the movements together. It was fascinating to observe how, piece by piece, we created something cohesive and beautiful. The rehearsals also helped us to connect with one another, to build trust, and to form the emotional alliance that the performance required.
Presenting our piece at the Ivanofia Festival was a success. I felt completely immersed in the moment, in a state of flow while being on stage. The audience’s engagement and the compliments I received afterward made the experience even more rewarding. It strengthened my confidence in my performative skills and inspired me to continue exploring creative expression and performing in the future.
