Fun and production

This week was both productive and emotionally fulfilling. On Monday, we began executing our mission of developing the garden. We prepared the area for the children’s upcoming visit—cleaning, arranging materials, and ensuring everything was ready. In the evening, we took some time to relax and have fun together; we went out, danced a lot, and socialized, which helped us strengthen our team spirit.

On Tuesday, due to the national celebration, we had a day off. There was a military equipment show in the city center that we initially planned to see, but since we were still tired from the previous night, we decided to rest. Later in the evening, however, we attended a Halloween party in town, which was full of energy and joy—we couldn’t miss it!

Wednesday was a more reflective and administrative day. We worked on uploading photos and other documentation tasks. Later, we had a self-reflection session with Eleni, the director of Esaien Roi, which gave us the opportunity to discuss our experiences, share feedback, and better understand our personal growth within the project.

On Thursday, we returned to the garden to host the children together with our beloved teacher Constantina. The children planted vegetables such as onions and spinach, as well as various flowers. We guided them through the entire process, and they were very excited and engaged. When it was time for them to leave, they expressed their gratitude by giving us warm hugs. This touching moment made me realize how meaningful our work truly is and how much joy it brings to them.

Finally, on Friday, we went on a mission to discover the “hidden treasures” of Thessaloniki by visiting local parks. We took photos of these beautiful places with the idea of later preparing a flyer to promote them and encourage more people to visit and enjoy these green spaces.

Overall, this week combined teamwork, creativity, meaningful interaction with children, and a sense of purpose. I felt inspired by how our small actions contribute to something bigger and valuable for the community.
