Dear diary | My first week of May

Yes, I confess I've stopped writing articles about my experience working at Esai En Roi in Thessaloniki, Greece. The main update, as you can see, is that I'm alive and kicking, I've just been busy with other, more important things. Let's start with my favorite column: why I haven't started a radio show. Have I received any feedback on my Erasmus+ and other projects? How's the graffiti project going? And most importantly, my way of finding excuses for why it hasn't been done yet. I haven't started a radio show, and as of July 7th, I still haven't touched the microphone. However, that's really too bad, because part of my job here is self-learning, trying new things, and getting out of my comfort zone. I don't remember if I mentioned earlier that I wanted to try blogging, but now you know. A radio show is really good practice for speaking and overcoming shyness. So what am I going to do about it? Procrastination is my middle name, and I really have a hard time getting started when the work seems endless. Knowing myself, overcoming this barrier will be difficult, but I promise that next weekend I'll force myself to sit down and try writing for a radio show. Even though it's July 7th, I want to write articles like these as if I were writing from the past from May. At that point, in May, I hadn't received any news about my projects, both Erasmus+ and other ones, and it was truly infuriating, but I had no choice, I had to be patient and wait... Spoiler alert: I received a response at the end of June. If you're curious about it, wait until the June article is published on this site! I also don't remember exactly where I left off in the last article about graffiti. Anyway, yeah... I never started it, but I was discussing the idea of under what circumstances I might start in July. The thing is, we've learned that starting in the second week of June, about 20 volunteers will be coming to us for a month to help with a project dedicated to ecology and creativity. The graffiti project will be implemented with the volunteers when they arrive. So, let's move on. What next? I didn't do anything extraordinary during the first week of May, so I wouldn't write about it. Everything was pretty calm. But I still remember being on edge because I was tired and waiting for my vacation to finally begin! And it started in the second week of May! You can imagine what it was like: spring, already warm, a feeling of summer, vacation coming soon. The tasks were routine, and the mood was high because I didn't feel like working at all, I just wanted to lie on the sand by the sea.
That week, the sister of one of the volunteers came. It was truly interesting to spend time with her, she's a very interesting person. These days, it's hard to find a young woman who's decided to live in a small village, run a farm, herd sheep, and do house renovations! That same week, I learned about the LGBTQ+ pride parade, which was scheduled for June 20th. With a strong desire to support the local LGBTQ+ community, I invited Esai En Roi to join the parade, not just as guests but as full participants. The idea was to create merchandise with our logo, sell it during the parade, and simultaneously educate people about the organization. Pride management itself invited various NGOs to participate in the fair, and it would have been a mistake not to take advantage of this opportunity.
