Chiara Matilde Alba Scarfo, EER Volunteer
European Solidarity Corps KAIZEN Youth for Health
Within of a continuity of Saturday meetings, I have been introduced to the activities of an association with children with autism carry out.
I met met various people and some volunteers from the medical school of Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki and from the Dept of Music of Macedonia University. We talked, ate, sang, etc. Especially this last Saturday I have been given the opportunity to present and show one of our local traditional CHristmas Dances in Sardenia, the dance of Befana, giving them sweets and doing a choreography acoompanyed by Befana's music. I didn't just song song Befana, but also another nataliza both in Italian.
I really enjoyed meeting these guys, everyone was happy to meet me, "to know an Italian". The language was not a big problem; they tried to speak English or I always had someone doing the intermediary.
I admire the work of the volunteers who go every Saturday putting all of themselves into it.
Now with them we are gradually organizing the biggest party that will be held at the end of January in the park nearby ESAI EN ROI office. I hope for a participation from the community to show this reality that we need to know and help in any way.
