Sports & Arts Balkan: it helped me to respect people from different backgrounds and nationalities...

Mario Tadic, Youth Leader from BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA in a Youth Mobility Project

Erasmus+ KA152 Push Up Sports & Arts Balkan

Hello,

I am Mario Tadic from Visegrad (Republika Srpska entity). I learned about the Svitac organization from my brother who participated in the Svitac Harmony Project, where he learned about many opportunities for young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He gained a lot of information and took advantage of the opportunity to travel, meet other people and contribute to communities through volunteerism. Now it's my turn as an 18-year-old person to learn something new through volunteerism.

I joined the Pop Up art trough BalkanS project with my brother and a group of young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina. We participated in this project with groups of young people from several countries from the Balkans. As a very young person, it took me a while to connect with young people from other Balkan countries. In the beginning, it was a little strange to share things, learn and participate in workshops with young people from different backgrounds and nationalities, but after that everything was great. The first trip outside the country and Informal activities with others helped me to have a better view of the world and to respect people who come from other Balkan countries who are actually like me. The key thing and something that will always associate us with Svitac is tolerance.

I am sure that seminars like this are a great opportunity for young people to understand the importance of education, make new friends and reduce hate speech, which has been increasing in recent times due to the crises happening in the world. Thank you to Milos, the coordinator of the Svitac organization, for the opportunity provided, the constant support during the seminar, and I hope that many young people will get the opportunity to participate in projects like this one and find a small piece of happiness because they deserve it.

Thanks once again to all partner organizations in the project.
