In the middle of November, I decided to spend a day at Lake Kerkini. From the first moment I arrived, I was greeted by an atmosphere of almost unreal peace. A light mist lay over the water, enveloping everything in a magical aura. The trees bordering the lake, with their warmly colored leaves-yellow, orange and red-seemed to frame the landscape like an autumn painting, and their reflection on the calm surface of the lake made it even more spectacular.
As I strolled along the paths bordering the shores, the silence was broken only by the rustling of leaves under my steps and the song of birds hidden among the branches. The air had the typical scent of autumn, a mixture of wet earth and dry leaves, making each breath deeper, almost therapeutic.
With a camera around her neck, every corner of the lake seemed like an opportunity to be captured. The play of light in the branches of the trees and the iridescent reflections in the water were an irresistible lure.
I found a small clearing along the way, perfect for a break; it was almost surreal how easy it was to forget everything happening outside of that moment. I watched the light waves of the lake, the fishermen in the distance, and a heron roosting elegantly near the shore.
When the sun began to set, everything was transformed once again. The sky was tinged with shades of red and orange, and the lake looked like a mirror reflecting the magic of the sunset. I found myself walking aimlessly, simply enjoying the silence and beauty that surrounded me.
