Training offer : Unlocking Doors to Recognition: Seminar on Recognition of Youth Work and Non-Formal Learning

A seminar supporting youth workers and organisations in strengthening the recognition of youth work and non-formal learning (NFIL) across different contexts.


Date : 8 – 12 June 2026.


Location : Bar, Montenegro.


Organizer: SALTO South-East Europe Resource Centre (SALTO Resource Centre) (Co-organised with SALTO Training & Cooperation Resource Centre)


Goal: The seminar aims to deepen participants’ understanding of recognition processes in youth work and support them in developing concrete strategies and action plans to enhance recognition in their local environments. It focuses on:

  • understanding key concepts and European developments in recognition

  • sharing practices and challenges across countries

  • developing practical strategies in peer “recognition teams”

  • strengthening networking and cooperation between organisations


Who can participate: Youth workers, youth leaders, project managers and organisational representatives who:

  • are active in grassroots youth work

  • are interested in recognition of non-formal learning

  • can implement strategies in their organisations

  • are willing to follow up after the seminar


This activity is for participants from: Erasmus+ Youth Programme countries and Western Balkan countries.


Working language: English


Funding: Funded by the Erasmus+ Youth Programme. Accommodation, food and programme costs are covered by the organisers. Travel reimbursement conditions depend on the sending National Agency.


Participants will receive a Youthpass certificate recognising their competence development.
