Training course : SkillUp - Core Skills for Youth Workers

Goal: This training course aims to support youth workers at the beginning of their journey by equipping them with essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes for quality youth work. Through practical workshops and collaborative learning, participants will strengthen their competences in motivation, social inclusion, leadership, and communication. The course also focuses on conflict management, nonviolent communication, and understanding the differences between formal, non-formal, and informal education. It provides a safe learning environment where participants can gain confidence and develop as trainers, mentors, and facilitators in their communities.
Who can participate: Youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, project managers, volunteers, and mentors—especially those at the beginning of their youth work journey or looking to strengthen their core competences.
Participants from: Poland, Portugal, Romania, Türkiye, Ukraine
Funding: Funded under the Erasmus+ Youth programme. Accommodation, meals, and programme costs are fully covered. There is no participation fee. Travel costs are reimbursed according to Erasmus+ distance rules (country-specific limits apply).
Additional details:
Focus on core youth work competences (motivation, inclusion, communication, leadership)
Practical and interactive sessions using non-formal education methods
Development of conflict management skills through Forum Theatre
Exploration of nonviolent communication and trust-building methods
Field visits and activities with local NGOs
Creation of a personal portfolio with at least 20 non-formal learning methods
Strong emphasis on personal reflection, self-assessment, and professional growth
Opportunity to initiate or co-organise future youth activities after the training
