During my mission in Thessaloniki, I experienced the city as lively, diverse and full of contrasts. Thessaloniki combines a strong sense of community with real social challenges, such as the situation of stray animals. Working with the local team and international volunteers was very positive and inspiring. The group was open, supportive and motivated, which created a safe space for cooperation, creativity and exchange. I especially appreciated the collaboration with people from different cultural and professional backgrounds, as it helped me see the project and the city from many perspectives.

My main achievement was the design and implementation of music activities in schools to raise awareness about stray animals through creative methods such as sound stories and percussion. Through this experience, I strengthened several Youthpass key competences, especially cultural awareness and expression, social and civic competence, and communication skills. I also developed greater confidence in planning and leading educational activities independently, as well as adaptability and problem-solving skills in real-life situations. For the future, I hope that the Pawsitive Parks campaign will continue to grow, reach more children and communities, and further promote empathy, responsibility and coexistence between humans and animals. Personally, I hope to stay involved in similar projects and to keep using creative approaches as tools for social change.

I attached some pictures.

Thank you,

Mirjam
