For my last weekend, Eleni invited me to go to a gourmet restaurant with her mother, Thomai, and a friend of hers. It was also Thomai's birthday.
The restaurant was next to a casino and we ate in the garden. It was really great, there were also 2 musicians playing outside on a stage. The food was really delicious! I had a goat cheese and cherry tomato salad as a starter, then a shrimp risotto, and for dessert a galaktoboureko. I really enjoyed the evening, we had a great time.
Then on Sunday we went to Halkidiki in Kassandra with Eleni and Thomai in the apartment of Eleni's brother. We made a first stop to drink a Greek cofe in Kallithea, and the view on the sea was just great! Then we went to a monastery in the center of the land, it was really interesting I could see the traditions, with the mass and then the cakes and the coffee at the end. Also, after the monastery, we took a walk to the top of the hill, it was really nice! Then, we went to Eleni's brother's apartment, and we ate a traditional meal that her mother had prepared. Finally, before we left, we took another short walk to a viewpoint in the mountains, and then went down to the city near the sea.
I had a great day, I felt included and was able to learn more about Greek culture.
